Walking

Walking on the Farm

Lovely walks and rambles start right outside your cottage door. You are welcome to walk over our 546 acres, see the wild native woodlands - a picture when the primroses and blue bells are out in the spring. You are likely to see buzzards soaring high above and maybe hares 'boxing' in the fields. Wander through the water meadows beside the river Neet, watch the sunset over the sea from our higher fields, walk through the woods to the magical ruins at Penhallam or link into footpaths that lead to the sea at the unspoilt Millook Cove.

Coastal Footpath

The Cornwall section of the South West Coast Path runs for 296 miles. The coastal footpath between Hartland and Padstow is superb: our favourite sections are the walks between Millook and Padstow. The local bus runs along the coast enabling you to complete different sections of the coastline.

We are also well located for walks on the North Devon coast - we recommend the walk from Brownsham to Clovelly and Hartland Quay to Hartland Lighthouse. On these walks you will see great views of Lundy Island.

Dartmoor -Dartmoor offers wonderful walking opportunities or, if you prefer sight seeing, visit the moorland towns and villages such as Tavistock and Widecombe in the Moor. The wild Dartmoor ponies are a must see.

Bodmin Moor - Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall and Rough Tor with its rugged peaks is a mere 20 minutes drive away. The Hurlers and Cheesewring (pictured above) near Minions are also well worth seeing.

All the cottages have information, books and leaflets on walking in the area.
