Located just inland from the coast, Hele Barton is surrounded by beautiful farmland and woodland, where the hedgerows give life to a seasonal array of leaves and wild flowers. As you approach the farm enjoy the exceptional panoramic view of rolling hills and vista of the Atlantic Ocean. Wander through the meadows and woods and see an abundance of wildlife, enjoy fishing in our lakes or simply sit back and relax in the tranquillity of the countryside. Our cottages offer 4 & 5star accommodation surrounded by meadows, orchard, woods and ponds. Peacefully set in an idyllic wildlife haven, they provide an excellent retreat for couples, friends and families.
We are blessed by superb beaches, just minutes from the sea and surf. Widemouth Bay, is well-known for great surf, as is Summerleaze beach, right in the town of Bude. Nearby, the rugged coves and cliffs such as Northcote Mouth, Sandy Mouth and Duck Pool, offers stunning scenery. The nearby beach in the beautiful cove of Crackington Haven is within the North Cornwall Heritage Coast area, famous for its rugged beauty and spectacular walks. Cornwall is renowned for its sparkling seas, safe sandy beaches and surf.
Nearby little fishing villages include Boscastle (a must see and only 10 minutes away) and Port Issac, home of Doc Martin. Millook is another wonderful quiet cove attracting geologists from all over the world to see the chevron folds in the rock face. Cornwall offers tremendous variety, with woods, lakes, moors and farmland dotted with picturesque hamlets and towns. Catch a boat from Rock to carry you across the estuary, arriving at the renowned Padstow – home of Rick Stein .
Bude has all the local amenities of a medium town, such as shops, supermarkets, restaurants, horse riding, leisure pool and sports hall. There are opportunities for climbing, fishing (sea, canal and lakeside) and golf. The new North Cornwall Cycle Trail, part of the new National Cycle Network will get your knees going on the Cornish hills! You are more than welcome to bring your dog(s) for your stay with us.We welcome dogs and most cottages have a private fenced garden for your pets. There are also wonderful walks from the door, along quiet flower-filled country lanes and across our 225 hectares of rolling green hills, woodland and lakes. There are some spectacular views available over the local countryside and across Bude Bay.
Several cottages have a gate leading directly into a meadow or the start of the woodland walks adjacent to the cottages. The North Cornwall coastline, with its many coves and beaches are just a short drive away. We have a dog washing point which is great for hosing down the dogs, or cooling them down in the summer.
