Introduction

Hele Barton Farm Cottages are a cluster of five cottages, one single-storey cottage and the other four cottages are two-storey.

Pre-Arrival

 Our website includes links to local travel services.
 The nearest station is Exeter or Plymouth. There are regular flights into Newquay and Exeter.
 Hele Barton is approximately 6 miles from the small town of Bude which has two supermarkets.
 Waitrose and Asda offer a grocery delivery service to our cottages.

On Arrival

On arrival at Hele Barton, visitors will be met in person and given directions to their cottage.

Our Holiday Cottages

 There is ample car parking for residents at all the cottages.
 From the car parking areas, there is easy access to all of the cottages, with Cyder Barn and Hayloft having a very slight ramp.
 In most cases, the ground surface consists of medium to fine gravel or block paving.
 Wheelchair access is possible to all cottages, though it is recommended that wheelchair guests are accompanied. Please note that Mowhay, Cyder Barn and Harvest Barn have bedrooms on the ground floor, hence there is good access to all ground floor beds. However, the living area is ‘upstairs’ therefore, unfortunately, is not suitable for a wheel chair user.
 The areas around the cottages are well lit.
 Small thresholds lead into the cottages, but otherwise there are no steps or stairs in the single-storey cottage.
 Harvest, Mowhay and Cyder Barn have slate or tiled surfaces on the ground floor bedrooms and shower/ bathroom areas. Upstairs there is oak and laminate floorings.
 Hayloft and Courtyard Stables are carpeted throughout the lounge and bedrooms.
 Harvest Barn has four en-suite shower / bathrooms. Three of the showers have a small step into the shower. The fourth bathroom has a large whirlpool bath.
 Mowhay has an en-suite whirlpool bath in bedroom one and a shower with a small step up in bedroom two.
 Cyder Barn has a walk in shower in the master bedroom and the second bathroom has a standard bath with overhead shower.
 Hayloft has a bathroom on ground floor with a whirlpool bath and shower over.
 Courtyard Stables has a walk in shower with a 5 cm lip into the shower.
 Kitchen work surfaces are of standard 90 cm height.
 Most breeds of dogs are welcomed and there are good facilities for allowing them exercise.

Grounds and Gardens

 Each cottage has its own patio area and or lawn area.
 There are four lakes / ponds in the grounds, please be aware that the water is deep and is not fenced. Children must be supervised at all times.

Additional Information

 Our fire risk assessments are clear and up to date.
 The cottage owners, Peter and Rachel Chapman live on-site and are very willing to assist in any way to make your holiday enjoyable for all your guests. Should we not be available for any reason, there are alternative contact numbers available.
 Emergency information is clearly available in all cottages. Hours of Operation
There is usually someone available on-site most of the time.
Future Plans and Feedback
We are a working farm with 350 head of cattle (Aberdeen Angus). Please be aware of cattle and farm machinery.
We endeavour to offer assistance to all our guests and are always willing to listen to suggestions on improvements that could be made.
