Hele Barton Farm Holiday Cottages

We welcome dogs as long as they are well behaved with people and other dogs. The 546 acre organic farm provides lots of space for walking and exercising. You can take short walks around the ponds or explore the whole farm (2.5 miles end to end along the river).

All the cottages accept dogs (one small dog only in Hayloft). Many cottages have a fenced garden area but most visitors tend to exercise their dogs around the ponds, up the lane or in the fields which are at most a stones throw from the cottages.

North Cornwall is probably the most dog friendly part of Cornwall. There are lots of dog friendly beaches nearby, miles of unspoilt coastal footpaths and Bodmin Moor or Dartmoor National Park is only a short drive away. See our walking page to find out more.

Dog Friendly Beaches

North Cornwall benifits from being quieter than the more hectic South Cornwall and you often find you have the beaches here to yourself and your dogs, especially outside of the peak season. Choose from Widemouth Bay (South Beach), Summerleaze in Bude and the rugged, uncommercialised beaches of Northcott Mouth, Sandy Mouth and Duckpool.

Dog Rules:

Dogs are allowed by arrangement at time of booking (puppies and certain breeds e.g. pitbull not accepted). We usually take up to three dogs (depending on cottage).

Dogs must not be left unattended in property. There is a registered kennel 2 miles away which will take dogs for short stays if needed.

Dogs are not allowed up on the furniture or beds.

There is a £15 per dog per stay charge to cover the extra cleaning.

We cannot guarantee the security of the gardens for dogs.

Dogs should have up to date vaccinations and must be wormed before they come to the farm with a good wormer sold by a vet e.g. Drontal.
